Five lions managed to quickly escape their enclosure at Sydney’s Taronga Zoo early Wednesday and guests were sent off for an overnight stay program

At 6.30 a.m. a male adult lion named Ato and four cubs were shown outside their enclosure

The zoo said an emergency response had been invoked after the lions fled in less than 10 minutes. Local media reported that the lions were confirmed to return to their enclosures by 9 am.

“The zoo has very strict safety protocols in place for this type of incident and immediate action was taken,” said Simon Duffy, executive director of the Taronga Zoo.
